Randy Hayden Gibson

Randy Hayden Gibson passed away on November 16, 2022, at the age of 65. He was born on July 9, 1957, in Ellijay, Georgia. He is preceded in death by his parents, Hayden and Eva Gibson.

Randy wore a lot of hats: father, grandfather, husband, friend, and mentor, to name a few. He is survived by his children, Caleb Gibson and his wife Bethany Gibson, and Marianna Gibson and her husband Tyler Hicks; his grandchildren, Hayden, Harper, and Hudson Gibson; his sisters, Kay Demakowski and Sheila Gibson; his niece, Laura McAlpin; his nephews, David Demakowski and Jeff Gibson, and the love of his life, Judy Gibson-Reece.

Randy was a man of great faith; He lived his life in service to others and in wonder of the world around him. He read books, wrote poems, saw the best in others, and never missed an opportunity to say something out of pocket. Randy devoted much of his free time to serving with Providence Ministries. When he wasn’t serving, he divided up his hours between his children and grandchildren, the Appalachian Mountains, the Atlanta Braves, and Florida State Football.

The family will receive visitors at Love Funeral Home in Dalton, Georgia on Friday, November 18th from 5pm to 9pm. The funeral service will also be held at Love Funeral Home on Saturday, November 19th at 1pm. The celebration and remembrance of Randy’s life will be led by Reverend Wesley Noland and Simon Presley. A committal service will follow at Scott Cemetery in Plainville, Georgia.

Pallbearers include Tyler Hicks, Kacee Smith, Kendall Pickens, Andrew Coker, Kem McNeese, and Ray Andrews. Honorary pallbearers include Hayden and Hudson Gibson.

Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Providence Ministries.
