Raymond George Anderson

Raymond George Anderson, 88, of Tunnel Hill passed away on Friday, January 31, 2020.

He was the son of the late Arthur and Winifred Anderson and was also preceded in death by his sister, Betty Gilmartin and son, Andy Anderson.

Ray was an active member of Tunnel Hill United Methodist Church, where he was in the choir and taught Sunday school. He served on the Tunnel Hill City Counsel for 20 years and was an avid golfer. Ray graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Textile Engineering and played on the football team from 1951-1954.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Patricia Anderson; children, Greg and Lisa Anderson, Arthur and Jodi Anderson and Elizabeth Dennis; grandchildren, Jeremy Couey, Natalie Anderson, Phillip Anderson and Rachel Sisk; brother, Tommy Anderson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Diane Parker; nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank Ray’s caregivers and special friends, Valerie Cleaver, Courtney Garrett, Pam Gunter, Peggy Hammontree, Destiny Moore, Lasonya Bonds, Ella Mae Green and Joe Kauffman.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday at Tunnel Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Jay Tenney officiating. Burial will be in Griffin Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 until 4 at Love Funeral Home.
