Rickey Thomas Penley, 72, of Dalton passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, September 15, 2022, after a long health battle.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Arvil Penley and Robert and Mamie Stanley Callahan.
Rickey was a U.S. Army Veteran, bravely serving in Vietnam. He owned and operated Fine Used Cars and Dalton Detail. He loved sailing, hunting, fishing and spending time at the fish camp. Rickey leaves behind his beloved friends and family who he was always sending his “peace and love”.
He is survived by his wife, Maria Peroulas Penley; sister, Delores Howalt; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Johnny and Mary Beth Peroulas; nieces and nephews, Jeff and Gina Davis, Tela and Pat Sain and Demetria Peroulas. Numerous great nieces and great nephews and other loving family and friends survive.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 PM on Monday at Love Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday in the chapel of the funeral home with Chaplain Ryan Stoker officiating. Rickey will be laid to rest at Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
Memorials may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation or to one’s favorite charity in memory of Rickey Penley.
