Ronnie Lee Ensley, born November 24, 1952, age 69, passed away at his earthly residence to his heavenly home on April 6, 2022. He wasn’t just a husband, a dad, and a loving Pawpaw, he was a strong believer in the Baptist faith and had accepted Jesus Christ as his own personal Savior years ago. He was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church in Gordon County. I have no doubt that he is walking those streets of gold today.
My dad was a very hard working, dependable man his entire life. I can’t remember a time when he was not working. If he wasn’t at his job, he was working in the yard. He took great pride in keeping an immaculate yard, and that he did indeed. He enjoyed playing the guitar, spending time with his family, and just enjoyed living a simple life. He never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He was planning to retire from Engineered Floors soon and leaves behind many good friends and co-workers of which he talked about very fondly.
He was the youngest boy of a family of seven. He was born in McCaysville, GA to parents, Carl and Tressie Mae Ensley. Dad in preceded in death by both his mom and dad, his brothers, George Ensley and William Ensley, and sisters-in-law, Nora Ensley and Dorothy Long. He leaves behind his loving wife, Janie, of almost 47 years (May 2). He also leaves behind his daughter, Melissa Ann Ensley, and his honorary daughter, Jennifer Wright. He loved them both very much. He was a very proud Papaw to two precious grandchildren, Aubri Ensley and Ryder Lee Ensley. He is also survived by his two brothers, Carl Junior Ensley (Marca) and Perry Ensley, two sisters, Martha Hammons (Ronnie) and Beverly Layman (Steve), and one sister-in-law, Eunice Ensley. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, and many special friends.
