Roy Edwin Tolbert

Roy Edwin Tolbert was born November 29,1943 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Hubert and Cora Tolbert. He departed this life and was greeted by his Heavenly Father on August 27, 2022. He was preceded in death by his sister Helen “Duckie” Allen. He leaves his greatest blessings and sweet memories with his wife of 60 years Mary Tolbert, daughter Alesia (Mike) Toler of Tunnel Hill and son Ronnie Tolbert of Ivey, his grandchildren Amanda (Eric) Burnette of Rocky Face, Ashton (Dustin) Horton of Ringgold, Josh Amerson of Ringgold and Brandon (Kristin) Tolbert of Gordon and his great-grandchildren Savannah Burnette, Kayleigh and Little Dustin Horton, Konner, Kameron and Kyler Amerson and Emersyn Tolbert along with so many nieces and nephews.

Roy was the Pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Jones County GA for 25 years.

Our family lost our rock, but Heaven gained an angel. He endured more than his share of pain while on this earth but he’s now at the feet of Jesus with his new heavenly body. To know him was to love and adore him. He was a man that led by example and an inspiration to all. He was patient, kind, loving and fun. His wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy. He loved his family BIG. He never met a stranger and made everyone he encountered feel like his family. His smile was contagious and his personality infectious. He will be greatly missed but NEVER forgotten.

His celebration of life will be held Wednesday August 31, 2022, at Love Funeral Home, 1402 N Thornton Ave, Dalton, GA 30720. The family will receive visitors beginning at 1:00 p.m. with the service following beginning at 3:00 p.m. Interment to follow at West Hill Cemetery.
