Ruth Payne

Ruth Payne, 81, passed away on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, with all three of her children in the room when she took her final breath of life in this world. She had waited 29 years to be with the love of her life again… as today she knows the reunion with her husband and the two of them joy in the presence of our Lord together.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Payne and siblings, Doyle, Roger, Ruby, Gladys and Edie.

Ruth is survived by her children, Angela Payne Chastain (Asa Reese), Chuck Payne (Angie) and Matthew Payne; grandchildren, Micah (Crystal), Heather (Daniel), Chaz, Miles and Melo; 14 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Stan Walsh.

Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11 until 1. A graveside committal will follow for close friends and family.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation (Ruth was a breast cancer survivor) or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
