Shirley Lee Satterfield

Shirley Lee Satterfield, 85, of Dalton, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023, at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital in Atlanta, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett Riddle and Irene Carson DeVaughn, and her sisters, Ina June Riddle and Joy Lee.

Shirley is survived by her husband of sixty-three (63) years, Howard Satterfield; son and daughter-in-law, Ward and Carol Satterfield; grandchildren, Caleb Satterfield (Nikki) and Josh Satterfield (Roxanna); great-grandson, Maddox Howard Satterfield; and nephews, Greg Clure and Mitchell Clure.

Shirley was employed for many years as an Administrative Assistant in the Loan Department of Hardwick Bank in Dalton. She was a graduate of Dalton High School and a member of Alpha Gamma Delta at the University of Georgia. Shirley and Howard were the first couple married at Eastside Baptist Church in Dalton. She remained a member of that church until her death.

Funeral services for Shirley Satterfield will be held at Eastside Baptist Church on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Eric Geil officiating. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 8, 2023, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Love Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Whitfield Memorial Gardens. Flowers will be accepted, or donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (GA Chapter, 922 East Morris Street, Dalton, GA 30721).
