Sylvesta Quillian Gentry

Sylvesta Quillian Gentry, age 86, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, December 29, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Roy Gentry Sr.  Two daughters, Sandra and Susan Gentry, Parents, Johnny Pat and Belle Quillian, and 3 brothers, Tampa Quillian and George W. and Horace Renfroe.

She is survived by six children, Sherry and Benny Roberts, Shelby and Harry Worley, Maybell Gentry, Roy Gentry Jr., Rhonda Sue Isenhower and Robert and Tina Gentry.  17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren also survive.

Roy Gentry Sr. was called into the ministry in 1956, Sylvesta was truly a Pastor’s wife always by his side.  They served at Dogwood Valley Baptist Church from 1963 – 2019, 56 years.  A total of 63 years in the ministry together.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 until 8 PM at Love Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM on Friday at Dogwood Valley Baptist Church with Benny Roberts, Jeremiah Quarles and Roy Gentry Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Sylvesta had requested that memorials be made to the Dogwood Valley Bible Camp in her memory.
