James Verdon Moore, Sr., 81, of Dalton, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023, at Orchard Ridge Residences. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Estelle Moore; daughter, Kathy Pettijohn; son, James Verdon Moore, Jr.; granddaughter, April Maddox; sons-in-law, Kenny Brown, Johnny Caldwell, Steve Caldwell; and grandson-in-law, Gregg Cooper.
Verdon is survived by his wife, Pam Carr Moore; daughters, Teresa Caldwell, Tammy Postelle (Tad), and Michon Brown; grandchildren, Amber Caldwell (Scott Ruttan), Matt Caldwell (Michelle), Jill Munguia, Tiffany Cooper, Beau Brown (Kinley), and McKinzie Price (Colin); and eleven (11) great-grandchildren. Verdon loved his family deeply and that love was returned to him by each member of the family. He will be greatly missed by all!
Known for his love, laughter, kindness, friendliness, and radiant personality, Verdon served our community with expertise as Owner of Industrial Metal Works. He also worked for many years with both the Bob Johnston Company and Dalton Bearing Service.
Funeral services for Verdon Moore will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverend Phillip Cannon officiating. Burial will follow at the Fidelle Cemetery in Calhoun. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 14, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Love Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or the family requests that donations be made to the Pleasant Grove Masonic Lodge #702 in Dalton. The family would also like to express their appreciation to the staff and all workers at Orchard Ridge Residences and Hearth Hospice for the kindness and compassion that they exhibited to Verdon.
