Wayne Terry Cline, 72, of Dalton passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Terry was the son of the late Lawrence and Routh Hill Cline of Dalton. He is survived by his daughters, Virginia S. Sharpe and Elizabeth L. Cline; siblings, Gena Cline and Michael Cline (Brenda); nephews, Matt Cline and Luka Cline (Kelsey); and loving partner, Deborah Hardin.
Terry was born in Dalton and graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in journalism, before joining the Marine reserves. He worked as a contractor, building homes locally in Dalton. Terry’s outsize intellect and physical stature, magnetic personality and humor left an impression on everyone he met. He did everything to the maximum. His passions in life included the outdoors, running, spin class and hiking, as well as tennis (both watching and playing). He was the consummate Georgia Bulldogs fan and lived in a Bulldogs ball cap and sunglasses. He was not only a Civil War buff, but could recount the Battle of Chickamauga vividly and in startling detail. He enjoyed art and classic movies and was a prolific painter. Above all, Terry was an attentive listener, a devoted friend, partner, parent, brother and advisor and could always be found leading the charge towards good times with the people he loved most. He will be missed.
Graveside services will be held at Noon on Saturday, March 5th at West Hill Cemetery.
