Mrs. Willena Fauscette Wilbanks, 85, of Dalton passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 55 years, Jack Wilbanks Jr. and her parents, Chester A. Fauscette Sr. and Mamie Lingerfelt Fauscette.
Willena had perfect attendance from first grade through graduation from Dalton High School. She was a proud member of the Catamount Marching Band, and attended the Georgia State College for Women in Milledgeville.
In 60 years of work, Willena was a dedicated professional. From Chattanooga Gas, to ConAgra, to Dalton Public Schools, to Collins & Aikman, to Adcock Financial, Willena was always the first to arrive and the last to leave. She took pride in being a strong woman often working in a man's world.
Willena‘s life was firmly rooted in the First Baptist Church of Dalton. She supported the church family by serving as a deacon and in various committee leadership roles, teaching Sunday school, and expressing her passion for music through choir. She loved fellowship in faith, and remained a follower of Christ for life.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Hugh McArthur of Tallahassee, FL; son, Robert Wilbanks of Dalton; daughter-in-law, Lily Chen of Atlanta, GA; grandsons, Nathaniel (Jessica) Amos of Ft. Myers, FL. and Ben (Kellie) Amos of Kennesaw, GA; sister-in-law, Polly Lewallen of Dalton; nephew, Michael Fauscette.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 Monday at First Baptist Church of Dalton with Rev. Dr. Jonathan Barlow, Rev. Phillip Cannon and Rev. Larry Flanagan officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service Monday from 12 until 2 in the Atrium of the Church.
