William Thomas "Tom" Ault

William Thomas ‘Tom” Ault, 75, of Rocky Face passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, July 28, 2018.

Tom was a member of the 1960 graduating class of Dalton High School and graduated from the University of Chattanooga School of Business. He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving as a member of the 525 ^th Military Police Company. He retired from a career in the carpet industry.

His was an adventurous spirit and he loved to travel. He was especially proud of the fact that he had visited all 50 states and the District of Columbia in addition to numerous foreign countries. Siesta Key, Florida was a favorite destination and holds many cherished memories for the family. Tom loved music, especially gospel. He was a member of Mount Vernon United Methodist Church.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Lake and Opal Paige Ault, and two brothers, Howard Ault and Charles Ault.

He is survived by his wife, Lucena Lowery Ault. He was a loving father to daughter Kim (Eric) Brown and a doting grandfather to his precious grandchildren who were his pride and joy, Maxwell McLeod Brown and Mary Pierson Brown; sister, Mildred Capehart Smith (Charles); nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to Tom’s devoted caregivers – Bea McDonald, Billie York, Dejsha Frazier and Dierdre Baker and to Heartlite Hospice for the compassion extended to the family.

Visitation will be held at Mount Vernon United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 from noon to 2 p.m. followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m. in the church sanctuary with the Rev. Tac Coley officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be sent to Mount Vernon United Methodist Church Building Fund, 597 Lafayette Road S.W., Rocky Face Ga. 30740.
