William Howard Satterfield

William Howard Satterfield, 88, of Dalton, passed away on Monday, December 11, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Lee Satterfield; parents, Andrew Jackson and Lucy Brock Satterfield; and siblings, Hershel Satterfield, C. L Satterfield, Sr., Charlie Satterfield, Aline Joyce, and Alwayne Welch.

Mr. Satterfield is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Ward and Carol Satterfield; grandchildren, Caleb Satterfield (Nikki) and Josh Satterfield (Roxanna); great-grandson, Maddox Howard Satterfield; siblings and their spouses, Dimple Burnette (Winfred) and Delane Fisher (Harold); and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Satterfield was the former owner of Tufting Machine Company. He has six (6) patents for carpet machinery and the textile/carpet industry. He was a graduate of Pleasant Grove High School in Dalton, and later served in the United States Army. Howard and his wife, Shirley, were the first couple married at Eastside Baptist Church in Dalton.

Funeral services for Howard Satterfield will be held at Eastside Baptist Church on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Dr. Mark Cushman and Reverend Dr. Roger Suggs officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at Eastside Baptist Church. Burial will follow the funeral service at Whitfield Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (GA Chapter, 922 East Morris Street, Dalton, GA 30721).
