William Lawrence (Larry) Mcconnell

William Lawrence (Larry) McConnell passed from this life to eternal life with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.

Larry was born in Chattanooga, TN and grew up in Dalton, GA. Larry was a 1963 graduate of Dalton High School and a 1967 graduate of Mercer University in Macon, GA. After graduation Larry moved to Chattanooga and spent 27 years at Provident Insurance Co. (UNUM) and 7 years with Fortis Insurance Co. in Atlanta, GA. Larry enjoyed living on Lookout Mountain where he had many wonderful friends and neighbors. He loved gardening and working in his yard and being with his Dalton relatives.

Larry was predeceased by his parents, Ova and Clyde McConnell and his sister, Bettye Rollison and her husband, Fred. Larry is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Jim Jolly and many nieces and nephews, especially Alice and Jim McPherson, David and Karen Jolly, Derek and Deana Jolly, and Fred and Margaret Rollison. He is also survived by his dear friend, John Barnes and his wonderful neighbors on Lookout Mountain.

A celebration of life will be held for Larry at Noon on Saturday in the chapel of Love Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service on Saturday from 10 until 12.
