W.R. “Ears” Caldwell, 92, of Dalton rounded third and made it home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 20, 2019.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles H. and Viola Caldwell; his brothers, Bob Caldwell and Rags Caldwell; son-in-law Jimmy Richardson and grandson, Zachary Hall.
He is survived by his wife, Judy F. Caldwell; children, Debbie Richardson, David Caldwell, Richard (Lisa) Caldwell, Missy (Gary) Waters and Terry Hall; special grandson, Robbie Lopez; granddaughters, Terri Young and Ashley Pedigo ; many great grandchildren; siblings, Evelyn Hawkins, Francis (David) Carroll, and Maurice “Cotton” (Dorothy) Caldwell; brother in law, Bill Sanders (Patsy); many nieces and nephews; beloved dog, Midi.
Ears loved to talk about baseball and golf, along with many other things, and never met a stranger.
The family would like to thank the staff of Homestead Hospice, especially Sandy Cash and Jaimie Hunter.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday at Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of NWGA, P.O. Box 3946, Dalton, GA 30719.
