Wynton Gene Aldridge

Wynton Gene Aldridge, 82, of Cohutta, passed away at his home on Friday, April 7, 2023. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 60 years, Barbara Jean Aldridge; parents, Silas and Odell Aldridge; grandson, Alexander Smith; and several siblings.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Chris (Rhonda) Smith and Connie Reed; grandchildren, Ashley (Chris) Ewton, Blake (Candace) Smith, and Tyler Smith; two (2) great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne (Faye) Aldridge and sister, Shana (Jim) Wright. Many nieces and nephews also survive.

Gene was a member of First Baptist Church of Cohutta. He retired from the Georgia Department of Labor. He loved gospel and bluegrass music.

Funeral services for Gene Aldridge will be Monday, April 10, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverend Brian Jarrett officiating. Burial will follow at Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, April 10, from 1:00-3:00 p.m.
