Yvonne Williams Abernathy

Yvonne went home to be with her sweet Jesus where she has been longing to go for so long. We will miss her grievously. She was a wise, witty, loving, and talented woman who never met a stranger. Everyone loved her. She was born December 29, 1932, to Ruby Rose Warnack Williams.

On October 1, 1949, she married her great love George Lorenzo Abernathy.

She is predeceased by her grandmother, Anna Pearl Reynolds, her beloved mother, Ruby Rose, her sister, Sally Anna Jones, and brother, Robert Allison Williams, and her son-in-law, Ronald Gary Ralston.

She leaves behind one daughter, Susan Yvonne Abernathy Ralston, and one son, Joseph Shane Abernathy and his wife, Ann Dotson Abernathy; six grandchildren and their spouses: Samuel  Conrad Murphree and Ashly, Benjamin Will Ralston and Michael, Daniel Ralston, Hannah Rose Ralston Silber and James, Matthew Shane Abernathy and Tiffany, Lee Tanner Abernathy and Emily; four great grandchildren:  Chondi and Daelyn Chastain, Victoria Rose Murphree, and Millie Jo Abernathy; and beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Yvonne Abernathy will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverend Steve Griggs officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00-4:00 p.m. Burial will be at Whitfield Memorial Gardens.
